Cheap Rocks Or Decor For Malawi Tank

thanks for the advice guys, im sure i could do something better than what i have but i think i will need to break the rock into smaller pieces first

i am 1 mile from the beach and there is a lot of rocks down there, i will take a trip down there to see whats there, i will be looking for nice stuff so fingers crossed

what is the test you do to see if you can use the rock in your tank ?

ah cheers i knew i had heard of something like that before, i went to the beach today and there is millions of rocks but many are very porous and volcanic like, some may be effective but am i right in thinking its best to stick to smooth hard rocks. i got a few small ones but nothing special

smooth hard rocks are best if you have plecs and stuff, well any fish can cut its self on a jagged edge. also, check there are no metal deposits in the rocks, mostly its iron. it will be orangey redy colour blobs and patches. if there is dont use them otherwise fish may be exposed to metals in the water.
