If you're just keeping him in a small tank like that without a filter, then you don't have to cycle the tank. Just change the water twice a week and the betta will be fine.

My one cat "Puck" will fetch coins if you throw them across the floor. Once he captures it, he either brings it back to you to throw again, or puts in under the living room rug. We just bought a new rug and when we moved the old one there was like $5 in pennies, nickels and quarters!

My girl likes them, but doesn't help with any of the cleaning. She will feed them if I'm out of town, I just have to clean the bettas before I go. The only thing that she really hates about them is getting dragged to the fish store all of the time!

I actually have one of those "betta hex" tanks that can be "divided" and I use it for all of the different food containers that I have. It keeps them all in one place and I can carry it around to my tanks. You're tank sounds like its a similiar size so you could also use it for food...

What about a betta? There are very pretty and you'll have a wide variety of colors to choose from, then you could add a dwarf frog, snails or shrimp to the tank too! You may also be able to keep a couple of guppies.

My Neons do that too. I think it's probably normal.

You could have problems with a betta and the gouramis, depending on how aggressive each of them are. I had a betta in my 30 gallon and the betta was constantly picking on my gouramis. You may have problems too.

Hi, The bubbles are from the oversaturation of gas (I believe hydrogen) in the water. This happens when the water comes out of the faucet. It usually takes a day for the gases to absorb into the water. You can help it by periodically wiping the bubbles off of the glass and decorations.

I enjoy feeding my fish. It allows my to see how everyone is doing and make sure that they are all alive and well. It also gives me a chance to interact with them.

SirMinion: When fish school they all move as a unit and usually face and swim in the same direction. When fish shoal they tend to just hang loosely together, facing and swimming in different directions.
