I meant glass thickness. That is a standard size ( assuming you mean 12"?) & checking with my LFS they do it with 10mm base & 6mm sides for about £60 The heavy duty one should be 10mm throughout and cost getting on for 50% more but might just have more strapping - do check. I am not sure...

Looking for a natural effect, which gives the impression of distance without making everything apear dark.Quite like rocks and caves as a more natural effect. Is there a good way of giving this type of effect? Like the 3d backrounds, But too expesive.

I am looking to get a 5 ft fish tank. But was looking at some prices. There is a lot of difference between standard glass tanks and the heavy duty glass tanks. Do I need heavy duty. Is there much difference between the two to justify the raise in price?

Personally I think kids work well with fish. I have three kids and planning a fourth, I have a rabbit. chickens two dogs and a husband. I could not imagine life any other way. Babys also find fish relaxing to watch. I always parked my kids in front of the tank when they were small.

Sorry to hear you have a leak. Ive been there my self. Id get containers very quickly and start fishing and scooping as fast as possible save the fish while you can.

Sorry I have to agree I would not put my tank on that shelve. Sitting on it for a few moments is not the same as a constant weight of a tank which will sit there for a lot longer and would probebly weight a lot more than you. I thing it is a great effort and looks good. But It needs more strength

I made a unit a few years ago for my 3ft tank. With your ideas and plans I am confident if I make another it will hopefully be tons better than the last which is great, untill you get close up and the joins are a bit tatty. You have all yours hiden so a far better plan. Thanks

I always use myxazin ,salt in your water also is great,and often prevents fungus

I believe gourami with salt in propper quantities may be fine, But I would question cat fish or corydorus, most can not tolorate salt.
