Anyone have a built in tank that fits in with the furniture, rather than just a tank in the corner. I want to have it compliment the decor. Has anyone got pictures where there tank is not standing alone but fitting with the decor??.
I need ideas Please

Excuse the hood on the main tank, This was taken a while ago before it was complete. I have hand built all the stand and TV cabinet myself to form one long unit that goes the length of the room:

Are you talking about something along these lines or more off the wall like say a fish tank in a piano (i jest you not i,ve seen the pic where i cant remember) :)
I love the use of the alcove that is roughly what I'm looking for. My alcove is 5ft. Im assuming with an extra couple of supports in the centre that will work for me.Great design. I like the idea of the piano would be interested to see it, but it wouldnt work for me.
Thanks for help[

You could find some ready made doors at B&Q or kitchen places i used standard 720mm high doors, just talor the design around them, or make your own.

Look at the diy tank stand and hood in my sig it will give you a few ideas if you don't already know what you want.

I made a unit a few years ago for my 3ft tank. With your ideas and plans I am confident if I make another it will hopefully be tons better than the last which is great, untill you get close up and the joins are a bit tatty. You have all yours hiden so a far better plan. Thanks

Im curious how long did it take to make your unit?

I did an hour a night when the kid had gone to bed, total time about half a day.

The hardest thing about it was deciding on the decor :)

I,m going to change the lights, i want the plants to do a little better so, we are tinking of using three retro type stanless steel light fittings ovwe the top with energy saving bulbs, failing that il make two lighting units.
