you can keep them together. it's hard to do b/c you have to find bettas that get along and it might take a few trys. but i wouldn't do it unless its about a 75gallon tank or bigger. i've heard of people doing it in a 55gal. but i'm not sure if that would work very well. but you do need to get 2...

you could try and move the decor around. it does help alot. or it might just be the age differences? or you don't have a alpha female, one that will take charge, or it could be they are trying just to make a pecking order. some many choises....lol. keep at it. they will settle down some time...

a betta is a fresh water fish. it dosn't need salt in its tank. +you might be geatting some salt in the tank naturally b/c of you tap water. i water have a very very low salt reading to it. fresh water fish like fresh water.

i'm sorry to say but the fish you discribe doesn't sound natural. it could very esaly been dyed....could you post a picture of it?

i know this too. i thought they didn't have that main the first time...or that the male takes care of the sickly ones..(yes i know this sounds mean but i can't sell sick fishys to anyone and i feel bad for doing so. but the male is supposted to take care of the young'ens for the first few weeks...

sigh... this is not a good idea at all. it purly is a bad idea. it might work for a little while but once they see each other they are likly to atack each other, and if you don't seperant them kill each other. i can understand do it on accident but on purpuss? thats stupid. if they are sibleings...

okay ghost shrimp are fresh water animals so adding salt will not help but only kill it most likely. do a 50% water change it might help. and when mine died of old age it did turn white so i assume that it's what they do.

yes you can use a turkey baster, skurt it right over thier heads or they might not find it. also do not squirt it on them that isn't very nice and i'm pretty sure you wouldn't like it happening to you. anyway (that wasn't meant to be mean) you can also feed them by hand you might have to chase...
