thanks for ur reply germ. ok its dropsy, u say its at a fairly late stage. how comes there was no signs of this saturday? or is this how it works..ie u dont know they have till they have it? he has been taken out of main tank now. do you think its worth treating or is he to far gone?

i got myself 2 new female mollies just 24 hrs ago. they are a lovely bright orange and now i have about 20 bright orange babies :hyper: she didnt even look that big but knew she was pregnant so i kept an eye on her

i only ever go to 1 fish store, have done for years. but thanx for pionting out what to look out for. at the mo ive moved the female into my baby tank so she will be left alone to recover. all 6 babies seem to be doing well. thanx again you been really helpfull.xx

i have a 42 gallon tank with 6 guppies, 2 mollies, 6 platies, 5 neons and 2 plecos (6ins) i put her in a breeding net for the last couple of days as the other molly wouldnt leave her alone

at long last my white molly has given birth. in the end she gave birth to 6 live fry, 3 dead fry and about 6 eggs. daddy molly is black but all babies r white.

hi, after reading all that has been written, sounds like you have what i had... and i know only to well how you feel. mine was down to VERY high nitrate readings which lead to nitrate poisoning, i then went on to do a 80% water change added nutrafin water conditioner (aqua plus) and nutrafin...

dont think it was white spot, more like nitrate poisoning :blush: :crazy: done a 90% water change today added nutrafin water conditioner (aqua plus) and nutrafin biological supplement (cycle). after a few hours done another nitrate water test and the results are perfect. fish swimming round...

dont mind spending money if its going to save fish as it will be cheaper than restocking. done water tests today results are ammonia: 0 nitrite: 0 nitrate: off the scale PH: 6-8 so think i better do a big water change, nitrate reading from tap = 10ish

[hello and thnks for everyones help up until a few weeks ago i had more fish than i have now and they all lived happy together, tank may be a bit bigger than 25 gallons. the plecos sizes are 1inch, 2inch and 2 x 6inch
