Was the water you added the same temperature as the tank water? Also, a declorinator would be helpful for your betta; I always use some no matter how long I let it sit out, just to be safe.

Like everyone said, it really depends on the betta. My little guy is very laid back and rarely flares but when I put a ghost shrimp in his tank with him, he became agressive and ate it before I had a chance to take it back out, poor little guy!! Just because the betta has a docile temperment...

Could it be a blown tail? :huh: "Over activity or sometimes bacterial diseases will give Mr. Betta a quick "hair cut": The fins (which are only a few cells thick) ) will tear and fall off (also called "blowing a tail"). This will usually rejuvenate Mr. Betta and he might become once again...

I don't know much about this and am curious - when do you use this conditioner, all the time in your bettas water or just during stress when the betta is prone to illness? Can/should it be used continually?

This is my new little guy :D His name is Sunny (even though it doesn't match his colors :lol: ). He's terrified of the camera and hides whenever I bring it out! He's already is at work in blowing a bubble nest... Hope you like the few pictures I got of him!

That just happened to me recently! I was cleaning my bettas tank so I planned on putting him in a smaller container for about 10 min or so but no, he jumped out right after i put him in, the silly littly guy wanted to be back in his spacious home :lol: For advice on your jumping betta...

My betta is the sweetest, most easy going little guy but as soon as I got him a ghost shrimp for his tank he got very territorial and ate it the next day! I guess it just depends on the betta, mine prefers to live alone! :/

Does that mean I'm not feeding him enough?

The day it happened it was jagged but within the next day it's smooth showing regrowth.

Yep- my betta ate my ghost shrimp. He seemed fine with it, didn't flare then all of a sudden just took a bite of him! He's very shy, so I figured he'd just ignore it, but he didn't! :unsure:

my betta is picky. he doesn't like betta pellets, he refuses to eat them. he prefers flakes and gets freeze dried bloodworms a few times a week which he really loves. they do like places to hide, either plants or pots are a good idea. it'll help him feel less stressed and safe to have...

My Amquel has a bad odor, I didn't really notice the smell of it when I first got it and I've only had it a few months. Once I add it to water, the smell is gone and the water doesn't smell bad. Is it possible that its expired? Or is it supposed to be like that? :unsure:

My betta fish had a little torn fin as well which I recently realized that it was caused by the current. I shut it off until i can figure out how to slow it down. I added aquarium salt and have done a water change everyday and so far no new splits and a little show of regrowth. I'm not sure how...

Thanks! This poor little guy has always had a weak immune system- I've always done very frequent water changes and began to try treating with just aquarium salt but nothing seems to help yet :( Hopefully this will work!
