I'm still new to fishkeeping myself but i have a couple of Bristlenose Plecs who love there algae !!! and live in perfect harmony with my Tetras, i have neon tetras, rose tetras and Penguin tetras and never had any issues with them at all. Hope that helps.

Yeah i guess the little fella is probably dead, just wish i could find him so as not to pollute the water to much, though if the rest of the fish have eaten him i guess that would eliminate the chance of water pollution.

Well i'm due to do my second treatment tonight, but the good news is the spots seem to be falling off my fish!!! My Penguin Tetras only have one or two left on their fins now, their bodies are clear!!! Hopefully i caught it in time, they all seem to be very happy still and eating well!!

How long should it take for the spots to start to disapear after giving the first dose of meds?? As the fish don't look any different today, though they are all swimming around as normal, feeding, no itching, hiding away in corners etc.

I bought a rena air pump, was recommened this brand and it's really good and it's very quiet unlike a lot of them you can buy!!!!!

Can you buy battery operated air pumps and heaters thus giving you at least the heat and a bit of a current whilst the filter is down???
