I bought three lovely Black Mollies at tthe weekend to add to my community setup which is now fully stocked.

The problem i have is one of my black mollies has gone missing!!! I can't find it anywhere!!! I've looked in every part of the tank, in the plants, round the back of the filter etc etc and i just can't find it!!! I have aprox 25 other fish in my tank a mixture of Mollies, Gouramis, Danios,Tetras and Rainbow Fish, with a little Plec for good measure!!!
Could the fish possibly have been completely eaten???? I just have no idea or clue what could have happened to it!!!
The tank is fully mature and has been up and running since February, all water tests are fine as well.

If it died then it can get eaten over night I'm afraid. Or disintegrated within your filter. You'll also be surprised at where bodies can end up. Inside holes in ornaments and wood and under things you wouldn't expect. Sorry

:good:

its dead bro.... soryy mate. i had teh same problem with one of my guppies. it was ok for the first 2 weeks tehjn it went missing.... i found remains like bones and stuff within the filter sponge....

Yes, I agree with the others. I retrieved 2 missing mollies from my tank yesterday that were under a rock, one had died the day before, the other could have been dead a week. In my other tank I have a fairly big algae eater missing, I've searched everywhere and there's no trace whatsoever. I had one ornament out shaking it, thinking there were no live fish in it and a khuli loach fell out onto my kitchen work top, ever tried to catch one of those things!!!! I got as big a fright as it got, anyway the algae eater is def dead, thankfully the tank is being dismantled this weekend so the remaining fish shouldn't have to live with it too much longer.

Sorry for your loss, even more annoying when there's no apparent reason for it, just keep a close eye on your other mollies.

Yeah i guess the little fella is probably dead, just wish i could find him so as not to pollute the water to much, though if the rest of the fish have eaten him i guess that would eliminate the chance of water pollution.

Well now i'm really confused!!!!! Got home last night, again i could only see two black mollies, spent the evening observing them and my white ones as they are new in the tank and all seemed well. So about 11ish i went to switch off the light and go to bed when lo and behold the third black molly that i'd given up for dead was swimming around the back of the tank (the other two were playing up top!) Where on earth he could have hidden for two days without being seen i don't know but there he was bold as brass!!!!!

i cant find a rasbora in my tank either...hes been gone for 2days...i stripped the filter, lifted all rocks out, moved around plants...still cant find him
