Hi, After reading how the arcadia systems improve the aquariums light, I am keen to upgrade from my Juwel (70cm) to the arcadia equivilant. In particular, this post has inspired me to make the change, but I am wondering.. Is it worth only upgrading the tubes? Or is there a good enough benefit...

I was trolling through many posts trying to find out if it would be worth upgrading my lighting system from Juwel to Arcadia and your post is exactly the hard evidence I needed! Thanks for your post, it's greatly apprechiated! Should help improve my Juwel Trigon 190 :) The lighting is abysmal.

That is one lovely aquarium. If it's worth anything..I prefer this setup over your previous one! Excellent work. One of the best tanks I've seen to be honest.

I removed my Juwel filter box the other day, it was quite easy! Get a blunt knife in there and get it out! The tank looks so much nicer without it! I'd probably change the heater too..my Juwel heater broke & cooked my fish.

I believe it has a 1year warranty (mine was just over 1 year old before it malfunctioned). Monitor it and if you believe that it is faulty, by all means - send it back! I however (after my experience & it seems others too) would perhaps not use Juwel heaters..use a visitherm or Hydor instead.

Thanks for the nice comments :) There won't be any more woodchip wallpaper too in the room that the tank is located lol! Extreme makeover in that room now! The tank started it all! Will keep you well posted.

If I could ask two questions: 1) are all of those different colours really natural? 2) is there anything like aquabid available in the UK? The reason why I ask both of these questions is that all I can find so far (on & offline) are the Siamese fighters (blue/red).

The fish friendly cleaning agent is where I get lost. I assume Vinegar will be OK after I rinse with dechlorinated water & test for ph [and add alkaline if required) - but is there something that would be more effective? :)

My fish used to do this when the light was turned off. It never seemed to be a problem, as they'd get back to 'normal' after 30 minutes of the tube lights being back on.

Sorry could someone confirm to me if it is right that the two replacement parts with the TetraTec EX series are the carbon & wool parts? Do the balls never need to be changed? (As long as they are cleaned in the tank water).
