I'm going to buy a new heater to replace the Juwel one I had (200w).

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of which one to have? I am swaying (possibly ignorantly?) towards a 'Visitherm' 200w.

I am going to be buying from thelivingseas (where I got my tank from) and they have 3 choices:
- Visitherm
- Hydor
- Hagen Tronic

The page, if you'd like to take a look for yourselves is at: http://www.thelivingseas.co.uk/index.asp?f...T&catid=236

Any ideas?

I have used many differnet heaters and I find Visitherm to be the most reliable.
Now I use them on all my tanks and have had no problems yet. But this is just my opinion.

Note- Hydors are used on canister filters, so it wouldn't work on a standard Juwel system.

I've just looked around and I'm going to be buying an tetratec EX1200 (external), so could I buy an external Hydor thermal heater and attatch it to the piping? That way I'd have less 'clutter' in the tank :)
Would it work with a TetraTec EX1200?

I'd have to bypass thelivingseas if I were to buy an external heater, but nevermind.

Thats a great idea, I've heard Hydors are good, but ive never used them myself.

Thank you so much for the help!!!

Copy of my E-mail I've sent to thelivingseas. They're still getting £50 of my money so they should be happy..

Hello, I was wondering if you could help me with a request of mine.

Please could I return the Juwel 200w heater (£19.99) - it is completely unused. I would like to do this because..

I bought my Juwel Trigon 190 from yourselves just over two years from yourselves and on December the 31st, the heater malfunctioned whilst I was out celebrating the new year. The heater raised the temperature of the water to 'off the scale' (well above 35 degrees). All (24) bar two of my fish had died at this point, and in an emergency I ordered a new heater from yourselves in hope that I could save the remaining two fish in time.
Unfortunately the fish have died and I have lost ALL FAITH in the Juwel range of products. So I'm going to change my filter + heater to other makes.

Therefore I would like to return my (unused) Juwel 200w heater please and purchase a TetraTec EX1200 and pay the difference (£69.95 -£19.99 = £49.96). Is this possible?

The Juwel heater sent on the 2nd of Jan is completely unused and unopened. I will send it back to yourselves in the exact same condition (pristine).

I am going to buy an external hydor heater and I would of definitely bought one from yourselves if it was available in store (you don't have any at your branch do you?).

I sincerely hope this is possible; I have been a good customer of yours for years now.

Kindest Regards,
Michael Blanchard
