    What Are We?

Here's mine...LFS said they were Green Corys also, but everyone else seems to think they are Bronze Corys. They change color with different gravel colors. In the below picture they were on Orange gravel. Here they are with Natural gravel sand, they look more brown/bronze. Bottom right hand...

I Think My Corys Laid Eggs

Hi Inchworm :D I put them in the tank night before last and they are just hiding, they won't come out to eat at all. This afternoon I saw all three swimming around alittle, maybe they are just scared. I'll keep an eye out and make sure that is all that is going on.

I Think My Corys Laid Eggs

Many Thanks Inchworm :D I understand about the sponge on the old filter intake, so I will just clean another tank up that I have , and start another tank for the adult Corys. Then they won't be in my community tank. Going shopping tomorrow for sand, air stone and small pump. What size pump...

I Think My Corys Laid Eggs

Thanks again...Inchworm. :D I have a filter on my tank now, that sucks water up into the filter, and then runs it through the sponges, and back into the tank over the top. Question: Can I get a piece of sponge to wrap around the intake, to keep the the fry from being sucked into this filter...

    Seeded Filter Material

If you have a seeded filter sponge from an established tank, how long does it take to cycle a new tank with it? Thanks for any help. I have some Cory's I need to move.

I Think My Corys Laid Eggs

Thanks Inchworm...that clears it up. The box filter is like the ones I used 20 years ago. I remember them..... The sponge filter looks funny though. Which one do you think works the best? I remember having alot of trouble with the box filter. The Corys are doing the dance again....

    Which Tank?

Hi Bozza, Here is a link someone sent me, it is a very good article on breeding corys. It says the breeding tank should have a large footprint (large substrate area), as opposed to being really tall. http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=165155 Hope this helps.

I Think My Corys Laid Eggs

Inchworm, I have a small 10 gallon tank, that is almost finished it's cycle, could I move the cory's to that tank, when it's ready? And if I do, when they spawn again, do I need to move the parents back out? I would love to see if I could raise some babies.

I Think My Corys Laid Eggs

Around 3:30am this morning the corys were chasing each other. Didn't think anything of it at the time. Came home from work today, and found these by the heater. Haven't seen any more anywhere else in the tank. WHAT DO I DO? Never had Cory eggs before.

    Sick Fish

I used Coppersafe from Mardel to treat the tank. The directions call for 1 teaspoon for every 4 gallon of water. I took out the carbon first. Then put in 2-1/2 teaspoons. Treats water for 1 month. So I need to let this medicine stay in the tank for the required time, then do a water change...

    Tank Size

I have heard that the dyed Parrots, don't live as long as the ones that are not dyed. I have 2 Parrots in a 29 gallon tank and they seem to be doing fine. I am getting a 75 Gallon for Christmas, so will be moving them soon.

    Sick Fish

It just started in the last 2 days. My Dad gave me these fish, and they were in a horriably dirty tank. It doesn't look like Ich, it looks more like fine powdered dust. here's another picture. I have some coppersafe and some other kind of ich meds. Would that help, if it's not Ich. Thanks...
