Some egg pics... 5 days to hatch 2 days to hatch The thing about buying australian red claws from LFSes around here is that it most probably have come from a local river. There are people who catch and then sell to LFSes, a practice of which is bad as it'll deplete the crayfish population...

I'll have to agree with CFC on this. In my somewhat limited experience, I've seen people keep arowanas at 5 x 2 x 2 feet tanks, and was even told that it's adequate. But there are also 6 feet tanks as well as longer ones. I would also like to say that although some of them are in 5 feet tanks...

It's nice :D Umm.. stupid quetion tho.. How did you cut the holes in your plastic containers? Did you drill it? I've always wanted to diy filters but sadly I don't have a drill.. Is there a way to cut perfect holes without using a drill? :P

If I'm not mistaken, a 6x2x2 feet tank is the minimum for an asian arowana, so it should be okay with your tank. The same goes with giant gouramis.. (unsure too :P). But unless you live in the US, an asian arowana would be nice. They don't get as big as the south americans...

If you're getting an RTG, my suggestion for a tankmate would be Siamese Tigerfish, or Indo Tigerfish, which is cheaper. I do not know how much they are selling in the UK though, but they seem to compliment arowanas IMO. They get bigger than bichirs and are middle/bottom dwellers. So I guess...

Thanks... I recently acquired two 4 feet tanks (250 litres each), and have since transfered all my stuff, which include the bogwood and plants in that tank into those 2 new tanks. The tank is now under my gf's care; and she has yet to decorate it. :P

I am no expert, but if you're going to go for heavy planting and also inject co2, then do not use an airstone as the agitation will cause a lot of co2 to be 'released' back to the air. I suggest you check out the planted section and read the pinned articles before deciding on what and how much...
