    Siberian Husky's, Any Pic's?

Here's Mine: The day I brought her home: 50 lbs of head strong Her name is Madison and she is 7 years old this May... Make sure they have PLENTY to do during the day! Oh yeah, and the spring is always fun when they shed! (note all the white hair on the ground in the second pic) That...

Building A Stand & Canopy For Plant Tank - How Much To Overhang?

Mine has 1 1/2 inch lip/overhang. I have a 55 gallon tank, and that conceals the frame on the top and bottom. I usually fill the water to just over the bottom of the top frame, which conceals the water line as well.

    Girl Fight At The Lfs!

It depends on where you are at when you do a 50% change. Truth be known, my water changes are actually probably more between 35 and 40%. I learned the hard way that in a non-planted tank the single easiest way to control algae is to keep the nitrates below 20ppm. Ideally I like to keep them...

Petco Starts Selling Live Fish Online

That is a great reason every fish goes into a quarantine tank for a week to two weeks, no matter where they are bought!

    Girl Fight At The Lfs!

I am always amazed at some of the information you can obtain at a LFS..... Today I needed a bottle of Prime, so I stopped by an LFS that is close, usually has very good fish, but their prices are sky high. I had a coupon for 25% off supplies so I figured it was worth it to throw them some...

    Red Tailed Black Shark

I agree he has to have a cave, or something to call his own. There are plenty of hiding spots in my tank, but he stays in his own little area. The only time he gets grumpy is feeding time. Reference my stock: 4 angels 4 swordtails 5 zebra danios 2 Blue Spot Gouramis 1 RTS 2 GBR's (Just added...

    Red Tailed Black Shark

My rtbs is docile most of the time. He even 'protects' the GBRs. The only time he gets testy is just after feeding, then he chases the danios and the gouramis around for about ten minutes. He leaves the angels alone, and they leave him alone too. He has his little corner of the tank, and...

55 Gallon Mbuna Project Finally Complete!

Very Nice! I've been following your progress since the beginning, as I too would like to do a mbuna tank next. You have done a great job documenting your progress along the way, and this thread to tie it together is a superb touch. Keep up posted on how all your 'battles' turn out, lol...

    My 55 Gallon Community

Fake plants, for now.... I am going to rehouse two of my angels when they get a little bigger, hopefully a pair will form. I am goign to add a pair of GBRs and then the stocking is done.

    My 55 Gallon Community

55 Gallon Community, currently 4 angels, 4 swords, 5 danios 2 three spot gouramis and a red tailed black shark. I custom built the stand and hood to match the armoire I built a few years ago and the dvd storage cabinet that sits in the same room. Underneath is a ten gallon quarantine/...

Sudden Ammonia Problem With New Tank

Once you get it cycled, it really is pretty easy to take care of. I dedicate Saturday morning as 'Fishy time' (My wife already thinks I have lost it, wait until I set up the Mbuna tank in the other room). It takes me less than 45 minutes to do a 50% water change on both my tanks and scrub a...

    Hello From Missouri

Hi folks, been lurking here for a few months (Christmas season is the busy time at work lol) Been in the hobby for a few years and active on other forums, but new here to TFF. Currently hosting a 55 gallon community and a 5 gallon hex with a betta in the kitchen. Pictures coming of the tanks...

Sudden Ammonia Problem With New Tank

Here is what I think happened: 1> The tank was never cycled initially 2> Your water supply had an unusually high concentration of chloramines in it when you did the 'mystery' water change 3> Water conditioner converts chloramines to chlorine and ammonia, then neutralizes the chlorine and...
