Building A Stand & Canopy For Plant Tank - How Much To Overhang?

Hi everyone, forum newbie here.

I'm building a custom tank & stand in our home here ... 111" x 24" x 24" for a plant/aro tank.

Can anyone recommend how much the stand show cover the bottom of the tank (and the canopy to cover the top of the tank)? I'd like to not show a lot of dirt at the bottom and I'd like to not see the waterline at the top.

Mine has 1 1/2 inch lip/overhang. I have a 55 gallon tank, and that conceals the frame on the top and bottom. I usually fill the water to just over the bottom of the top frame, which conceals the water line as well.
