hi there, my neons are chasing eachother around (not sheoling) think they may be mating ???? how can you tell male from female?? do they lay eggs? :unsure:

i have ten neons and 2 plecs, i feed them peas bloodworm brine shrimp and cucumber but i just didnt want to be using a rubish flake food, will try omega one, thanks guys

hi there, my little neons hide in the shade under my plants when my light is on but when i turn the light off they begin to venture out and swim all around. is my light to bright for them?? or does light not effect them? :unsure:

i like it but it just would'nt hold many fish, maybe 1 betta. would be easy to clean, vacaume water straight out in to the toilet, great, no buckets required!!!! :hyper:

my fav are male bettas. loved the pajama cardinal by the way, never seen them before, gorgeous. :blush:

thanks for the info, there not even close to being stuck to the glass they swim through the current quite happily, im just a little over protective and wondered wether they should be in "still" water. thanks for the peace of mind :good:

thanks for the detailed reply boboboy, amazing creatures, and not so little after all, i forget that the ones you see in the lfs are only babies. sounds like they need an extensive setup too, im more of a fish man just wanted to know if i could have a "legal" cray fish in the bottom of my tank...

i have 2 hillstream loaches, not sure if they are also called butterfly plecs? but anyway ive had them a while and they are only little maybe an inch or 2. are plecos the same as loaches??

haha free willy! the really scary thing is that they mention in the description that they are selling the tank to move on to tropical fish! they will probably buy neons so they can just about see them! :lol: look out tropical fish, these could be your new owners :sad:

i was hoping you wouldnt say that, ahwell, shame such a gorgeous fish cant live in a community. ahwell will have to just look at them in the lfs :-(

ha, yeah you can never trust a seller, thats why i asked a few questions on here, so i could get some advice from the pro's.

the filter in my tank gives out a fairly stong current, the tetra seem fine at the moment, just wondered wether a strong current bothers them?? :unsure:

any angel fish that stay small so they wont eat tetras??

hi guys not sure this is the right place for this post but all you guys seem to know your stuff about tetras, my tank is 3ft x 1ft x 1.5ft and has 10 neons in, could i add 10 glowlights, 10 cardinals and 10 rummy noses and them all live happily together?? cheers :good: i love tetras :)

which is the best brand of tropical fish flakes? there are so many out there, can you guys reccomend a brand that has all the correct nuitriants, thanks :blink:
