i bought a prizm deluze skimmer last week (red sea). at first it was noisy but now i've set it to what i think is the best setting, its not too bad. what should the water in the collection cup look like so i know its setup right? it the present rate of skimming i'll have to empty it every 4-5...

as i said, the ammonia reading didnt actually match any of the colours on the scale. is the kit you use easy to use? my fish seem happy and look healthy so the water doesnt seem to be so bad

i cut my lid on a rekord 120 although because of the lighting electronics it doesnt shut down right now. i'm gonna get an arcadia overtank luminaire soon so that;ll solve that.

i agree i've the red sea prizm skimmer and find it to be very noisy!

i'ved got active carbon in the filter. the filter media which came with the eheim filter (tubes and gravel) and in the original filter i've got coral gravel. i havent tried to scrub it off as i had read the algae use up all the nitrates to the point of the not being enough and it dying out. this...
