Green Ocean Rock

i switched from freshwater to marine 4 weeks ago and bought some ocean rock which was white. on of the pieces now has a luminous green glow, is this just algae and to be expected?

Sounds like an algea build of of some type. Does it wipe off? Scrub off?

What are you using as you Bio Filter

i'ved got active carbon in the filter. the filter media which came with the eheim filter (tubes and gravel) and in the original filter i've got coral gravel. i havent tried to scrub it off as i had read the algae use up all the nitrates to the point of the not being enough and it dying out. this right? i only put in the skimmer a few days ago so this should get rid of it??
