so i'm starting a a 10 gallon fowlr (fish-only with live rock) set-up and wondering what specifics i'll need, or if my whisper 30 and my single 15 watt flourescent is good. it'll have some lovely inverts too . . .so just some help would be cool on this.

generally . . .i go by how many times it turns the water over . . .without going into bio & mechanical filtration, i say turning the water over about 3-5 times is good enough for most of the messiest fish . . . .but . . .i've only been doing this for about 4 years, so. . . . .i'm just saying...

they should be fine . . .but you shoud keep the ghost on a better diet . . .frozen shrimps are the best, brine, mysis, etc. because they'll end up eating the eyes of the bala's out. and hopefully you get a big enough tank . . .cause both get rather large. the bala's top out at about a foot, and...

so i found out what he was, because he's fully acclimated and got all his color back, he is one of the species the other guy said . . .but he only gets up to 18-20 inches, so i can rehouse him easiiy.i'm glad i don't have to get rid of him.certainly is cute, though i have had a casualty already...

ok . . .so i got a catfish. he's beautiful and i love him. he was sold to me under Arius graeffei and i thought, cool, he's not gonna get too big. but he does NOT look it at all. here are some pics, please help!

the elephant nose would be okay with fish that uhm . . .aren't delicate. i've had a couple and all i can say is that they're extremely delicate (they test our water in the water treatment facilities here in ann arbor with them) and that they become pretty predacious in their later age.

hey guys, i get the feeling this doesn't belong her but, i couldn't think of anywhere else. would a couple bala sharks get along with a school of clown loaches? i also have a red tailed shark in the tank, but he doesn't really matter, to the topic that is.

it's temp, i'm moooore than aware they get big. lol. all the fish in the community tank are being taken out and spread around my family's various fish tanks. but this is as soon as they out grow it. it's a nice little temporary home though.
