OKAY I couldnt just leave him there, Hes really beat up fins torn ect, He was in a tank with Bala Sharks and some little algae eaters.

Hes BLACK with some mottled brown with long feelers on his nose the feelers are white tipped
I dont want to take his pic at this time as I dont want to stress him.

How do I mend his torn up fins?? And any Ideas on type?

could it be a chaca chaca? http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/speci...?species_id=136

seen a few of them recently at my local LFS... ugly looking cat... couldn't really get a good look from your pics... but the body shape coloring looks similar.

The Chaca Chaca's have a mouth as wide as their body, from the pic the mouth of the catfish looks comparable to the size of a Raphael's mouth..

Do you still have the Catfish? Ever figure out what it was?

In my opinion, id say that its a Pseudopimelodus raninus, the frog marbled catfish from south america. Will get to about 4" and should be fed on bloodworm.

Walmart Is quit the aquarium store over here in the us. You can buy anything from Neon Tetra's To Oscars, to 55 gallon tanks, stands, you name it! Comes complete with the most unknowlegable staff you can ever think of! :good: But hey, you got to give big ups to marketing right? :good:

The color is off,but to me the shape/body proportions match perfectly to that of a rapheal cat......Maybe some kind of defect/deformity.But really, the shape of the body and fin locals are very, very, very simalar to a rapheal cat.

Also,in my opionion wal-mart is the devil. They keep thier fish in very poor condtions, and regularly miss-inform pepole on what they are about to purchase.

i knew that much! but they are somewhat on a different scale over here, although there is a huge asda in derby, i'm sure i had to walk about a mile to find the toilet in that place! i do find it a little worry that a supermarket can sell fish, would they have properley trained staff? or just any typical supermarket personnel looking after the fish :S

supermaket staff. And good luck trying to get someone to bag the fish for you.
