    Inline Co2 Reactors

Use to use an aqua medic 1000 on my old trigon 350 and it worked great, my mate also uses one on his 6' discus tank and it has never caused any probs from what i have heard. I like going with branded makes as you do get the warranty that you may not get from smaller independent companies.

    To Much Light

Just that in my experience my plants have never really needed that much kno3 / po4, something more like 20ppm for kno3 and around 1ppm for po4 is more what i go with, in the past (before using RO) with high levels of both, growth was never its best. Yea, the Salvinia could easily be using up...

    To Much Light

Im running a 70w 8000k MH over my 30lt nano for 7hrs/ day, i havent had a problem with algae, but i do a have a tank full of stems and the co2 around 40ppm with the full ADA system. Id probably say its something to do with your fertilising, probably k EDIT - just saw that your no3 / po4 levels...

Anyone Ever Ordered Tropica Plants Online From Dartford Aquatics?

I have ordered from Dartford, i got the wallichii when i ordered it, and was happy with it. I then phoned up asking where the didiplis was and they said they could not order it atm, so i cancelled. About 3 weeks later i got a box through the post and there was the didiplis with my reciept from...

Thanks for the comments :) Another quick update from this evening, Really starting to fill in now, and the moss seems to have finally settled in Just need to trim and replant the wallichii as it has got pretty thick, and the didiplis still needs to grow some more and behind the wood to cover...

Quick update, Did a bit of a clean up / replanting and trim a few days ago, as i added the didiplis and mini pellia, pretty happy with the way it looks, there is just a gap in the planting where the windelov was, and where i replanted the hottonia tops, but it will fill in pretty quickly...

Id This Algae Please... Number 2

Thats going to be the switch to your high lighting with 10 hours of light, drop it to 7ish. Also worth checking your po4 levels from your water source

    Id This Algae Please

No prob, If your new lighting is on the same photo period as your old lighting i would say this is a major factor. I would reduce it to 8 hours, which is a good start for high light tanks for the first 3 months, also if possible increase the height of the light unit to reduce the lighting...

    Id This Algae Please

How long has the tank been setup? Whats your lighting and how long is it on for? What are you dosing? To me, looks like a mix of hair / diatomic algae Some excel will help with getting rid of this

    Which Diffuser Should I Use?

Limewood airstone all the way (usually in the marine section of your LFS), just as fine bubbles as from an ADA pollen glass

Thanks Graeme, I actually got the ADA glassware in Italy, and paid the price you see on the ADA euro website. Just so happens that a few ADA stockists are near the family house, so made a few calls ;)

Thanks guys, Yea will enter it and another tank i think.. the plants have just started to show the potential this week, especially the wallichii, the najenshan is just now getting a few red tips, a trim or two will certainly get it nice and bushy James

The stems have now started to get going at last and starting to get a better idea of the final layout. The wallichii is starting to colour up beautifully, the pictures do not do it justice. Still got a few more weeks i recon before i do a big trim and try to start shaping the stems, i am just...

    Lowee's 45gal Journal

Looks like a promising scape, only thing i would like to add is that the tank could do with some more depth, so try and get height to the back of the tank by adding some more substrate Look forward to seeing this develop :) James

No prob, See your point re the path, but things should get nicely overgrown soon so it should take the edge off it a bit. Yep mini lily pipes, looking forward to them and getting rid of the heater / ugly eden pipes at the back..Got some of those Cal Aqua pipes too :D James

    New Member, New Nano

Cheers Dave. Il have the ADA mini lily pipes this week, with an eheim 2211 and hydor external heater so you wont see much soon :D As for the plant, looks like a rotala, i would say more nanjenshan rather than green due to the red shoots coming through. Nice picture ;) James

    Fissidens Zippelianus

Ordered quite a few plants off them including fissidens. Quantity was not huge (20 leaves is nothing really) but it grows fairly quick if you float it for a while As for attaching, i found that it attached onto stone after a few months, but the majority needs to be held down with a hairnet or...

Sure, www.aquaessentials.co.uk My light bulb came today for the MH, and i just got it setup and running, very happy :) Conviently, the way i have it sitting means that most of the light is directed to the back of the tank, so the stems get most of the light while the anubias and moss does not...

Thanks very much, As for heat, yes it will heat the nano up and in the summer i can imagine it getting worse, last summer the old one hit 28 for a few days, but il solve that by having a portable air con unit in the room as there are 2 tanks in this room. James

Thanks Yep, the ends will be nice and bushy with moss eventually.. the twig of wood on the far right of the tank will be amongst the rotala mindue. Im also trying to train some willow moss to grow emersed for the piece of wood breaking the surface, hopefully it will work.. James

No prob Not yet tested it, as the bulb i have is a 3k so wrong type and not a good colour. I will have the 8k bulb on tuesday hopefully, looking forward to having it open topped then :D James

Yea you can get MH that small. I actualy have the MH up in place, im just waiting on the bulb now, a 70w 8000K RX7 one, just like the ADA MH bulb, £20 delivered from Hong Kong. The light unit is something that im importing and shall be selling online in the near future, will keep anyone...

HI & thanks I got the wood on Tuesday this week from AE, and planted it up in the evening. The plants and moss you can see are all from an old nano which was around 10 months old, and did the planting last weekend, so its brand new :D James

George, where do you get your glosso plantlets from? I bought some from Greenline, but i wasnt v happy with the quality and i got 3 bunches with many of the lower leaves brown or dead, so did not get as many as i would have hoped into the substrate. By the way, nice tank :) James

New Co2 System Setup, Need Advice!

Ive done some reserch and the bubble count for my sytem is the number of bubbles that come out of the tube at the bottom of the reactor. I agree that my lights are the problem, I want over 200w but only have 90 at the moment. Ive seen the DIY post you mentioned, and im going to ask the author...

    Juwel Lighting

Hi all, Can anyone help me with telling me what lights I can use with my Juwel Trigon 350. I have had a look on lots of sites, but the maximum watts i can get for it are 2x 30w for the front and 2x15w for the back. This is not enough for the planted tank that i want :( Any info would be...
