I have just received my purchase from AquaticMagic. I know you tie it to wod like mosses but I was wondering the following:

Does it attach to the wood or does it permanently need to be held in place like Riccia?
Can I tie it to rock or does it need the wood for some reason.

Any other ideas welcome

Just tie it down like you would with any other rooting moss. You may need to tie down further growth as it doesn't always grow along the wood.

As a matter of interest how big was the portion of the fissidens you received from Aquaticmagic?

I think it needs to be tied permanently, but not 100% sure of that.

It looks quite small in the bag and also when I floated it in water it looks quite small, but it is a small plant and there are more than the 20 'leaves' as advertised, so I guess I got a good deal.

It looks wild as well rather than tank grown, as it contains a bit of mud. Just about to tie it down so i'll put it into my journal tomorrow.

Very pretty plant :) Does it have roots/tendrils??

Ordered quite a few plants off them including fissidens. Quantity was not huge (20 leaves is nothing really) but it grows fairly quick if you float it for a while

As for attaching, i found that it attached onto stone after a few months, but the majority needs to be held down with a hairnet or similar

Here is a picture of my old nano with the fissidens, now in my new nano :D

That fissidens is looking good :good:

When did you get it? Just wondering how long it took to grow like that, as i've heard it's a slow grower like moss.

i wouldn't expect the item within 7 days thats coming from ebay.
I buy a lot of things from ebay and i usually takes close to 2 weeks.

If you are lucky, the seller will ship the next day. But it uaully is the case the seller will wait 2-3 days after ur payment so that items accumulate.
And when it says, for example, 9-11 days for shipping, IT IS 11 days. Always take the last number so you don't start waiting for the items at day 9. lol

Ebay is good in sense that you sit at home and order, but it takes too long to get what you really want and price ain't cheap either. For a guy like me who can't wait days and days for the item to arrive, i uaully just spend a few more buck on store.

My time ain't cheap. :)
Lol but besides that , woot ebay. Where else can you get plants coming from Malaysia.

It arrived in 10 days. Looks OK but we will have to wait and see. Also bought some Mini Pellia as well so they are now both tied to slate and pics are in my journal (shameful attempt to get you to look at it. lol)

I am thinking of ordering plagonium and Tiger Lotus from them next but a few plants at a time.

And also I sem to be having a huge algae problem as I think now my plants are getting bigger they are taking more CO2 and my lovely mid to light green in the drop checker is veering toward blue (and I haven't enough money for pressurised yet.

I've returned the 2 nutrafins to on top of the tank directly above the PC end unit so they are more than hot and also I am getting 2-3 bubbles a second through the non return valve, and the diffusor is blasting away.

Maybe need to look at an external filter to get the outflow next to the bubbles as only 50% are being sucked into the internal.

I really rate Aquatic Magic. no probs glasswise or plant wise so far and the prices are excellent.

Yeah glassware is excellent, got a drop checker for $10 with $6 P+P. Bargain. I have ordered some HC but its been over 12 days since the order so getting a little worried. Email sent, fingers cross. Also got some tweezers and scissors, both not great, OK but not as good as I had hoped. Oh well no biggie.

Hey Sam whats the problem with the scissors and tweezers, just general bad quality or a bit flimsy??

Was going to order some myself but haven't got around to it yet.

I bought the Rhinox 2000 in auction for £4 and the gamba bubble counter and non return for £5 from him cant fault the price or the service.

price is good even on buy it now. quality is good and 10 days is a short time to wait for quality.
