hope things are beginning to improve for you - ich is another name for whitespot so you have used the right thing. not sure about the plants but i can't see why it would be a problem to plant them, apart from maybe you'd scare already stressed fish?

theone thing i have noticed with java moss is that it takes absolutely ages to get settled in properly and a lot of what you get at first does die off. i've had some for months and months and its only just getting established and stuck to the decorations. is this usual?
