of course you can use an airstone, but i think the pores in an airstone is not fine enough to produce a fine mist of co2. i personally don't like the idea of injecting into filter, it's noisy and sometimes air pocket can form, especially in canister filter. there's also issues of plastics not...

hi ian. I use JBL co2 as well. I have to say the jbl diffuser is crap, too big too ugly. But does it job okay. Since then, i've been using ceramic diffuser. the best way to diffuse co2 in my opinion. go for it and you won't regret it. :D

i only do 25-30% water change twice weekly. Seems to be okay so far. i think you will still need water change regardless of plant density, it won't prolonged the period in between water change. Once you get used to it water change takes 10 minutes tops, for me anyway. cheers

Do you keep the discus in a bare bottom tank? or planted? treatment would be a bit different between the two. and check phosphate too.

Vertically planted anubias nana? I think you might have seen FishKillerNoMore's journal, they are planted ON a vertical pole or some sort. Just going off track for a sec, although branded as 'slow growing' in a suitable condition they do grow quite rapidly. I find new leaves almost every day...

Never use one before, but if it's a permanent CO2 indicator, i think you will need a colour reference card to go with it. So, you will need the instruction card, where the colour chart will normally be.

The substrate is Eco-Complete. I've been contemplating removing the bog wood on the left. Centralise the one on the right and point it towards the left front corner. Will have some spare time next week to do a bit of rearranging.

Yeah, cut it just below the water line. But i do prefer them arching over the surface of the water, looks more natural.
