Hi,
I have been using the diffuser which came with my JBL pressurised system. This is the circular ladder type that can be extended using extra modules. At the rate I need the CO2 set at to reach my levels, I get some CO2 escaping from the top of the diffuser. My question, is, would it be better to put the CO2 into the pump inlet, or should I stick with the JBL diffuser for now. I have heard that injecting the CO2 directly into the pump inlet can cause pump noise. Is this something that I will have to consider. Your views on this will be very welcome.
Many thanks
Ian

hi ian.
I use JBL co2 as well. I have to say the jbl diffuser is crap, too big too ugly. But does it job okay.

Since then, i've been using ceramic diffuser. the best way to diffuse co2 in my opinion. go for it and you won't regret it. :D

Thanks Cheesemaker, the only problem is that I am short of cash at the mo and was hoping to improve my CO2 diffusion as cheaply as possible for at least the short term.

Couldnt you pump CO2 through an airstone in the aquarium? or would this be not effective enough? im a newbie to the plant section lol :)

of course you can use an airstone, but i think the pores in an airstone is not fine enough to produce a fine mist of co2. i personally don't like the idea of injecting into filter, it's noisy and sometimes air pocket can form, especially in canister filter. there's also issues of plastics not being co2 resistance.

i'll stick to the jbl diffuser or get ceramic

Looks like I am going to have to get myself a ceramic diffuser at some point. Has anyone got a cheap spare one that they would be willing to sell lol :)
