Hiya guys, as always I wonder if you can help me identify and explain (or post a link) a bit more about what I don't know about (!) I have (for many months now) had a green angel-hair like plant/organism/algae(?) in my tank. It started being attached to one of the plants, but now it's 'growing'...

If it's a jelly like bubble, as opposed to an air-bubble, it's more likely to be snails' eggs. I asked a similar question not so long ago, and that's what I was told.

Thanks - Do the need attaching in the long term, or just to encourage their own natural attachment? If I placed a leaf which has loads of plantlets on it very close to a piece of bogwood, could it ever attach by itself, or will they always need 'manual help'?

My Java ferns are sprouting large amount of plantlets. I've read elsewhere that they shouldn't be buried in the substrate like other plants but attached to driftwood and rocks etc. Can someone confirm that this is correct, and offer some practical ways of encouraging this attachment?! Thanks x

I think it's a good idea. Infact I was just going to suggest it just before I saw your thread! It would be good if it was just to "weed" that/those particular questions out the list of threads in the livebearer section so that answers to other issues could be found more easily. At the moment...
