Hi guys,

I've left things dwindle a little over the past year or two, and have recently replanted my 125 litre tank for restocking. The only inhabitants are two old Red Phantom Tetras (and now some snails, transported on the new plants).

I have noticed than on one of the leaves of the new Vallisneria there's a little transparent "bubble" with white freckles in it. It's about 0.5-0.8cm diameter and almost like a tiny version of those glass paperweights with dandelion seeds inside!

Does anyone have any ideas what this could be please?!

Many thanks,

Pysgodyn x

(Oh, and also, what problems could the snails cause, if any?)

Thanks for replying...I did try, but it's on the back side of the leaf (towards the back of the tank) so quite difficult to see, nevermind taking a photo! Do you know of anywhere I could see photos of snail eggs so I could compare?

if it looks like a clear jelly sac with tiny dots in it. It's snail eggs.

Think of the inside of a Kiwi.

Ok - now I have millions of tiny little snails! And I expect they'll lay eggs too. I've still only got the two red phantom tetras in the tank at the moment, and am hoping to add a bottom feeder soon.

Soooo...It's a well-established 125 litre tank, with loads of snails and a little algae. What bottom feeder would be good at eating the algae, sorting out the snails, and be small enough for this size tank?

Thanks again x
