Just set up my first malawi tank, but i am struggling to keep the ph level right, from the tap my water is 7.1 .. even with the rock (tufa) supplied and adviced by the local shop its still only at 7.5 after a week is this ok .. i know they its adviced to that 8.5 is best but the tank is being...

No piranha's arnt in the same tank .. lol .. i upgraded my tank but the wife wouldnt let me keep the old one, so piranha's and tank went to my sisters, but at least i still get to see the fish .

i used to use the "look what ive been given" excuse, but doesnt work any more after my father who was baby sitting some angels for me in his spare tanks .. said to the wife your fish are doing well .. luckily she likes them and ive just been given permission to buy another tank .. she gets...

you can have some of mine, just give me chance to get the digi out .

ive removed all the plants after putting in my oscars and went for fake instead, saves a lot of messing about all ive got to do then is reattach them after they have dug them up, and i would recommend vacuming as mentioned oscars are messy

Brilliant fish, i would agree with a past post regarding getting 3 or more, i had 3 without any problems and little agression towards each other.

I need to buy myself one of these cleaned my tank yesterday while the wife was out, spent the rest of my sunday in tha bad books due to dropping a bucket of water on her new carpet ..

i dont think it will matter wether you feed them feeders or not .. oscars will take any fish that will fit in there mouth .. lovely tank btw ..

In a sense i agree with what was said i have purchased fish and slowly upgraded my tanks as needed, i dont think though that advice given on larger fish is off putting its better to know before hand where you stand, my biggest sickner when starting off was being badly adviced by a local shop...
