ok i was just double checking as she was acting strange today going up and down the side of the tank, and i know that's one of the signs that she is about to pop. i had a platy give birth 2 weeks ago and she wasn't that square before she gave birth.

hi have this red platy who i think is pregnant but i can't be sure. she is going up and down the side of the tank in the same place. when i go near the tank she moves and the goes back there. currently she is the breeding tank with platy fry. here is a couple of photo's of what she looks like...

with the one im asking questions about it is it's first drop, but my other female which is a pineapple platy she has had 3 drops. 

yeah in the morning a couple of times where the gravid spot is pinkish and then it goes black. here is that pic of mine that you asked for

hi, i noticed this platy hiding in the gaps between some rocks and near a plant hiding. i don't know how long she has been like that. she came up for a little bit of food and then went straight back down to where she was before. i have other platy in my tank but i have never had one this colour...

she is only a small guppy, all i can see is the black dots which makes the gravid spot.

hi yeah i had tank tested and everything ok. and when i said im waiting for my female platy to have hers in the breeding tank she is now having them but she slowly having them one at a time unlike the mollie where she had one after another.  I wont be over run as i have a home for them as my mam...

hi mamashack, i got a female mollie last week and i went to the tank this afternoon and she was having babies so i caught and put her in the breeding tank and i got 18+ fry. got 2 more platies to have her fry in the next day so im going to have loads of fry now. :)

Hi guys, my platy had fry on the 24th feb and she dropped 15 and she now looking fat again and her gravid spot still there and she squaring off. I thought platys take 4-6 weeks to drop more fry. Is she still pregnant again? From the first lot of fry

She sprogged on the 24th feb nearly a week ago and i just looked at her and she looking she going to burst and her gravid spot is darker.

From what i was told by pets at home was they get them in as young adults and sometimes they are pregnant before they come into the store. So like you say it could just be poo. So im not sure if that was her first birth.

Hi mamashack, just looked at the other female that had her fry in the early hours of sunday morning and she looking very fat again and her gravid spot is back. Is she going to have more before 4-5 weeks.

I got five as i wanted 4 females and 1 male but he caught another female by accident so i got another one for free. They are very pretty little fish. Like to swim near each other some have started getting their colours and some havent yet so its going to be a surprise when they do.

Lol, im going to set up a birthing tank for them. It really has, the house i went to he breeds them as well as angel fish. He had a really nice set up.

My tank is 4ft. Its 140L, im only getting a couple of them 4 at the most.

You can say that again. Fingers crossed i get more. Going to get some guppies today to build it up as i was hoping that the fry will make my tank a lot better. Looks bare at the moment.

Just double checked every inch of my tank and there is nothing. Maybe i will have better luck next time.

Just searched the tank, checked all the plants and every corner and no sign of the fry. They all have been eaten. :( i feel angry with myself. Just wish i had another tank to put them in.
