We had two firefish...cute but they hide a lot in a reef setting. A LOT. We also have an open top...well partially open top tank. They both jumped out. If you have a closed tank and don't mind him hiding all the time then go for it. They're cute little boogers.

I second that. To add to it though...even when going in with a lot of money for set-up doesn't mean you're done spending money. This is especially true if you decide to keep corals...which are like an addiction and not a particularly cheap one at that. If you don't know much about saltwater...

As far as coldwater tanks go, I am not sure you can keep any of those with golds. However, if you get fancy goldfish and throw a heater on that tank you can get a dojo or a pleco (I think the common pleco will end up "slime coat sucking" as they get older, at least thats what I've been told) so...
