they are in a 45 galon tank (as in my signature), i have 6 female and three males,

I was cleaning my builtin filter last night where i found a couple of fry still alive and a dead bunch :( but to my surprise there was a couple of strange creatures in there too munching on the dead fry, they are green in color, bulky head and a thin straight body (a little less than 1 inch)...

the reason i got confused is that i have endlers but they are not as colorfull, anyway i couldnt resist, might as well for them to be rare so i went and gotten the two males they are both orange, pink and yellow. http://photobucket.com/albums/v306/newbiehob/ the pics are a little bit blury...

i was at the lsf yesterday, and i saw some very nice colored guppies, however the colores looked fake (too bright). Is it possible that they are painting guppies too :/ or could it be that they are real. I did ask the LSF but his answer was :dunno:

i had the very same thing few days ago which led me to strip and sanitize my tank, but i was haste by doing that. If what you have is like i have had, it is harmless, all you have to do is dont feed your fish for a day and then just feed them the minimal the day after, they should disapear...

I dont know if this will work or not, but if you have a mini tank or such like, you might try to do a fishless cycle in it with some added ammonia ( you will have to work the formula per the mini tank size you choose, or if you have a real nice LFS ask him to keep them for you and you can...

the water parameters are all fine, it was a new batch at the lsf, so maybe the fish was going through a double stress ie(new tank at the store, and then a new tank at my end with different fishies, water, temp etc...). however upon further investigation and closer look, i have a one ornament...

You deffinatly need to get some more females, the time out will work but the competion will always be there.

well for you to be able to get the good bacteria you need to feed it, and that is usualy done with ammonia. I never used fishless cycling but you might want to read about it in the pinned section of how you should do it. ooooops i forgot to welcome you to the board :D

about a week ago i got my self 2 new fancy tail guppies, i had them quarantined for 48 hours, however a couple of hours after i put them in the growout tank with the platies the female guppy started showing nipped tail and loosing the tail until it was just strings, i pulled it out to a hospital...

how old is your your tank and is it cycled?? As far as i know the loachs and the sharks will get really big.

Just hang in there lolly dont give up, once the water settels you will be doing great, trust me i got to that point too :crazy: , but now im enjoying it. and started with aquascaping :D good luck
