i just saw the black knife ghost fish, i think its a gracious lovely fish, i wanted to take it home, how ever my tanks got platies, guppies and mollies, and i use some salt in all my tanks.

Can anyone give me more information about this fish, if it can take some salt in the water??? and if it can live with my fishies???

Thanks

I have a feeling that once that black knife ghost fish grows more those platies will be a snack ;)

i was under the impression that the BGK had no scales and it couldnt' handle salt ?

or was that salt is good for it because of the electrical current ?? DOES it have scales ?

anywho, i LOVE this fish, if u get it good for u :)

cause it's GORGEOUS ~!**

BGK shouldnt be kept with salt in th water, in their native waters there is no measureable salt content so over time salt will harm the fish.

Are you also aware that this fish gorws to 20 inches and needs a minimum of a 75 gallon tank?

do a boatload of research first.... you need to know what your getting into with a BLACK GHOST KNIFE FISH. you need at least 55 gallons for a juvenile and if your very good at fish keeping and he grows for more than 2 years you will need a 120+ tank.

CFC, I'm not arguing that 75g wold be good, but i thing a 55 is sufficient for the first few years......nless your buying a new tank, in that case a 75 is about the same price and is larger than the 55.... if im wrong Plz explain why......
