Hi,

I firststly say that 'I love this Forum'

Now i have buttered you up I need more advice!

I had yesterday I was reading the Forum notices & feeling pleased with myself for not having any problems or questions to post. Today yet again I need help.
Here is the story:
Got home to find 'big' cloud minnow dead with tail & eyes eaten. Ok this is not a problem I thought he is nearly 2 years old & he had been looking depressed & ill for 3 weeks, not responding to medicine, tonic, salt or water changes. So I was sort of expecting him to go.
Later in the afternoon 'big' leopard Danio has red blotches over his body & is only swiming in bubbles from pump. Here we go again I thought! So I medicated with anit-white spot, the type I have is also supposed to be quite effective on slime & velvet as well.
I don't want any more fish to die the trend i have had in the past seems to be that a fish gets ill then dies, I think I have the tank sorted then it starts again.

BTW pH7, Nitrite 0.5, amonia 0, nitrate 5

I know nitrite is high so changed some water, before medicating.
Will do test again tonight!

What am I doing wrong?
I try to do things for the best & follow advice but I dont seem to be able to keep these fish happy.

:-(

If they are red patches on the fish it's septicemia, it's hard to cure, you will have to act fast, can you issolate the fish and use a broad spectrum antibiotic.

Just noticed you live in england so you will need anti internal bacteria med.

I lost a Danio yesterday he did not even seem ill. @ last check Danio with red bits was still living. Will get some internal med tonight, any recomended brands?
Also I think I am giong to loose Male guppy, who is just generally lethargic & is not as interested in food as he was. Does this sound internal as well?

We are away over xmas for four days, so i imagine i will loose fish I am getting really upset about this. :-(
If it carries on I might give up the hobby my nerves can't take it. Even tho this tank was supposed to be a birthday/xmas pressie for my Fiance, i seem to do all the worry!

Just hang in there lolly dont give up, once the water settels you will be doing great, trust me i got to that point too  , but now im enjoying it. and started with aquascaping :D

good luck
