    Undoubtedly that is a goldfish.

By any chance you didn't get any photos of them before sending them off, did you? I would've liked to see a photo of Lucky and his companions.

    Sad Fish!

Yep, you don't want Simon jumping, especially if you don't have a lid. Try not to encourage this behaviour. I know that it may seem impressive, but you'd want to stop it, to avoid a tragedy.

HELP! I don't know what's wrong with my betta!

To start, that tank is too small. Bowls are not very ideal because of there shape. You need a heater, and a filter. Not to mention you need to be testing the water about weekly, and you would probably need a bubbler. Your water changes aren't done often enough. Do you have water conditioner? Did...

    Leaking tank

So recently, I discovered my 50l betta tank (I really do spoil him) was leaking. I've relocated him, and now am wondering how to repair this tank. Is there a specific type of silicon I need to use? I'm pretty sure it's not safe to use normal silicon. Thanks in advance.

Hi Nick, I was wondering if you could give me some tips for breeding mosquitoes because as of now I've had no success. Thanks.

    Dechlorinating Water

So, I recently discovered that some people leave tap water outside for a day and then add it into their tank/pond. Which leads me to ask this question. If this is possible, and can be done safely without causing any harm to fish, invertebrates, plants, etc, why doesn't everyone do it instead of...

    Goldfish with Swim Bladder Disorder

So, the fish are being feed on brand-less flakes that I get from my local aquarium. The pond he was originally put in had been running for about a year prior (with other fish obviously). In the pond, I only have thirteen other goldfish (it's ~300l, maybe bigger) in there, and I have a Fluval...

    Easy plants?

Yep, java moss is one of the easiest plants to keep (in my experience anyway). I use a similar method to RRaquariums with it. Not to mention it's great for aquascaping (as long as it doesn't overgrow). Just don't put it directly under a light, because it'll become overgrown by algae.

    Strange snail apocalypse

I believe the snails may have been eaten by your cory, because according to some people they might do so.

Please help my sex my DANIO fish!

Hi Serrawt, I believe it's a female (I may be incorrect). It would be easier to identify if you managed to get an image of them at the same angle (for an easy comparison), but I know how hard that is with them. If you do, please update it on. Hope this was helpful.

    Goldfish Problems

So, the original tank he is from is 300l. Due to injury from other fish in that tank, he was separated to recover in the 20l. Another person said that this could take two weeks, so I was wondering if I could put another fish (which, as specified, would be about 3cm) so that he wouldn't get...

    Goldfish Problems

I was just wondering, because the tank my goldfish is in is 20l, would I be able to get any goldfish to put in with him? They would be only a few centimetres in length each. If I could, how many would be able to accompany him? I just don't want my fish to be lonely in those possibly two weeks of...

    Goldfish Problems

I acclimated the new fish by first floating the bag for ten minutes, then adding some water from the tank into the bag and floating it for another five. The tank is about 300l (or about 75.25 gallons). I'm going to hopefully get some TLC and aquarium salts today as you suggested. Thanks for your...

    Goldfish Problems

Hi everyone. Yesterday I went out and bought six goldfish (three shubunkins and three red capped orandas). Anyway, after I added them in, I noticed that one of the orandas was being seriously harassed by my old fish, and had a few bits of its tail missing. I decided I would separate it from the...

    Neon Tetra Help! Disease?

I had this among a school of neons once. I didn't manage to cure it, and ended up having to euthanise the infected individuals to stop it spreading and end its suffering (they had been struggling to swim and eat for a week). Hope you don't have to do the same. Good luck.

    Middle swimmer suggestions

According to my 'Aquarium Industries Freshwater Fish Compatibility Chart', fish such as rainbowfish, loaches and mollies are compatible with angelfish, though I'm not sure how accurate the thing is. Wouldn't hurt to double check if you're interested in one of these fish. Please note I have never...

    Floating plants

You could have an ornament or a piece of driftwood with the plants attached, though you would probably prefer one of the other ideas. Really, it depends on personal preference.

    Platy Disappearance

Yeah, I think it's likely that it was eaten. That's usually the case with disappearing fish, especially whom have no other explanation. I'm sorry for your loss.

    Betta Sick?

"A PH of 7.5 is fine for Bettas, I know people who keep Bettas in PH of 8," (sorry, don't know how to use quoting). Really? I definitely agree about the second part, but I thought bettas preferred slightly acidic or neutral pH. But, I had a look into it and you're right. Not sure about 8...

    Middle swimmer suggestions

I'm with NickAu and Byron, those fish aren't compatible with angels. Your best choice is to return them.

    Betta Sick?

The pH is a bit high for a betta, usually they prefer slightly below 7. Has the pH been swaying? Was there a pH difference between the old and new tank? If so, that may be a problem. I experienced a similar situation with my first betta (who passed away), so I hope you find a solution. Good...

    Question on Nitrate

Generally speaking, you're not supposed to be changing that much out each week. Normally it's less than 50%, but if it works, I guess it's fine. But, to answer your question, I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, if the aquarium is heavily planted and with water changes that large. After all...

    Betta tankmates?

I agree with what a lot of other people are saying. Bettas aren't really community fish, though in the past I've successfully kept them with neon tetras. But, in the end, it's more about the individual fish.

    Setting up Shrimp Tank

Oh. So will the freshwater neon goby eat the adult RCS? I read that their diet was mostly algae and they were peaceful, which was why I was going to put them in. Thanks for all your help so far.
