The white poo could be an internal parasite. If the anti-bacterial med doesn't work, I'd treat with an anti-parasitical medicated food. I wouldn't worry about the nitrates that much though. Like RadaR said, your plants will be loving it. Oh, and BTW, I read in my aquarium keeping magazine that...

Thank you very much. I have done a lot of research about these worms already, so I know the damage they can cause. I live in Canada as well, so I got someone who was visiting the States to pick up some medicated anti-parasite food from Petsmart. It worked for most of my fish, but it didn't help...
