Thanks again to the folks who are really trying to help. I had made mistakes in the past with other types of fry as well, but still managed to raise many batches to adulthood. And I did do research, I got help from a betta breeder at my LFS, who is in fact willing to take the fry if I raise...

Thank you to the people who responded respectfully. :) I have Hikari First Bites, as well as BBS. I read that you aren't supposed to do water changes until the fry are a little older? Should I still be doing water changes when they first become free-swimming?

Oh yeah, and should I give the male a little night light at night so that he can see the bubble nest? Or is that not necessary? Oh no, there is a little pond snail in the bubble nest right now... Should I take him out? Will he eat the eggs? Thanks.

lol Yep, that is definitely true. :rolleyes: My male, Lousy Bob, who is in my friend's 29 gal, gobbles up little guppy fry like they are going out of style. :rolleyes: I will be sure to take him out once the fry are free-swimming. I will get some brine shrimp eggs going as well, right now...

Okay, thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. I had been feeding the parents often before they produced the eggs, as research said to do, so I think the male should be fine. If not, well, I tried, and I didn't know that you couldn't feed the male once he started taking care of the eggs.

Not really.... I didn't really do it the way I was supposed to..... But the female wasn't killed, or even injured, and I have quite a few eggs.

Hey guys. I have been keeping bettas since I was about 7 years old, but I have never attempted to breed them. So, I have a Veiltail male, and what I think is a Veiltail female. (I don't know how to tell what breed of bettas the females are.....) Scooter...

I have a girl in her own 10 gallon, a boy in his own 4.5 gallon, and another boy in my friend's 29 gallon. You are quite right. I have an "only krib" tank as well, so if worse gets to worse, I can move them there. They are just in the 39 gal right now because the female in my krib tank was beating them up. I'm waiting for them to mature a bit. Thanks, f_f!

Yup, there is silicone inside - it's perfectly fine on the inside. I contacted the previous owner, and they said that it had never leaked before - it was like that when they bought it.
