I sold 6 livebearers early and forgot that left me a female platy short with a very active male  so off to the local aquatic centre...

bought 1 female platy, which i'm abit concerned about at the mo has she's sitting near the bottom, hopefully she'll settle in,
Plus 6 ember tetras and 3 pygmy cories :)

That sounds like a good day! Hope the female platy settles in well for you :good: How many pygmy cories is that now?

Thanks Amy

The platy seems fine now, shes swimming around quite merrily :)

Umm 12 pygmys  they're so cute, the wee ember tetras and pygmys are shoaling together at the mo

Aren't cory cats really expensive though? Here in Canada, they're around 6$ each, so if I want a group of 6, it will be like, 36$ at the min! :(

I love corys, too, so that's just depressing.....

down my way, normal panda and bronze's are about £3.50 - £4.50 each and sterbai's go for around £12 each. (work that out in $)

The pygmys cost me £10.50 for 3,which i think is expensive because of their size  ,but the place i got them from is the only place i've seen them in..

About the same here for those also..

My pygmies were £3 each and the pandas i plan on getting work 4 for £10 so not overly bad. Glad to hear the platy is now good, awwww too cute, jealous of your 12 shoal!

p.s. Harlequins what are the ember tetras like? Do they do great with the pygmy cories? Do they get to about the same size? You will have to let me know if they eat the pygmy eggs!

Think they tetras are smaller than the pygmys, seem to have settled well, they seem to go well together if you wanted to put some in with your pandas/pygmys :good:
If i ever get pygmy eggs i'll let you know... :p

Smaller than the cories wow! Gonna have to look into those as they look gorgeous on the net and been looking for some mid to upper fishies! Cant wait for piccys when they settle in ;)

Ember tetra really are tiny. One of my lfs has them and they are really colourful and attractive. I think they max out at 2cm but not 100% sure on that

Thanks :)

Yes wee embers are around 2-3 cms, they're so cute & so active,i feel the urge to get more

Here's 2 bad pics of them (wish i could work this new camera out
