I don’t think it is harmful I would clean the plants off my just rinsing them under the faucet and do some water changes. I get mold in my tank and it seems to go away on its own after I do this.

Gold fish try and eat about anything in the tank that is edible so I would assume they would eat algae wafers but generally they are meant for snails, shrimp, and plecos.

He is adorable! Just get your tank up and running and get a water testing kit to check the parameters if you don’t have one already. Keep us updated on how he’s doing and if you need any help.

It might be worth investing in a thermometer so you know the temp of the tank because the heater might read wrong.

I personally haven’t been able to find any lights that go under a lid. You could get a small clip on and make your own plastic lid so you can keep in the moisture but the light can still shine through. Hope you get better!

It’s not a dumb question at all I actually don’t know for sure but I just looked it up and it said it can take a few hours or so for it to reach toxic levels so I would recommend doing it on a day you can stay home all day such as the weekend.

There are many filters for shrimp. You want the flow to be pretty slow and the shrimp to not get sucked up in the filter there are foam covers you can put over the filter so it won’t suck up the shrimp, but I would just look up filters for shrimp and see what comes up. Most of them should work...
