Hello and welcome to the forum...... This behaviour is natural and must also be closely monitored...... The male will keep chasing the female (sometimes for days on end), until one of two things may happen..... she may stand up to him at some point in time and start challenging him as well...

It is also known as pinecone disease and I think that best describes it.... the fish becomes bloated and the scales protrude like in a pine cone....you will diagnose it immediately when you see it.... it is not pretty.

This is him, and.... although everybody says Dropsy is contageous..... it is not my experience..... and although some says it is curable.... it is not my experience..... So!... rather than have it suffer through the ordeal..... I will do the deed.

My beautiful Yellow Guppy male is showing signs of dropsy..... I'm not even going to try..... He's destined for demolition tomorrow.... What a pity.... he was sooooo beautiful.
