Floating plants first n foremost imho. Fish behaviour in a tank with a good surface covering is stunningly different to one’s without. Plus they’re best for the water quality.

Essjays right. Floating plants bring them out. I’ve my first ever embers and they were hiding away at the back of the tank as I hadn’t realised how few floating plants I had left. Throw a few in and they’re now charging around all over the place.

I bought six more little ups at the weekend. I’ll be adding them to the main tank in a couple of weeks time. Hopefully that’ll help the others get out n about a bit more

It’s a 30G tank with about ten HFs and ten Pygmy Cory atm. I’m gonna up the number of Pygmy’s soon and won’t add any more RCS until there’s a few other fish in as well. I’ve noticed the HFS are a lot more visible now that the other bigger fish have gone. Obviously their confidence is increasing.

Looks a lot like the % levels for my WCs. I set the python to a similar depth and can do other stuff until the gurgling starts.

Amanos and RCS got along perfectly in my tank for a long long time. Unfortunately once I removed my bigger fish the Heterandria Formosa soon finished the RCS off. I’ve asked elsewhere would increasing the number of other smaller fish rein in the HFs if I added more RCS again? They were fine...

I’ve ten Pygmy’s and ten Heterandria Formosa in a 120L atm. It’s well planted so gets a 70%ish WC every weekend as there’s not a lot of it gravel vaccable. The Pygmy’s are most visible immediately after the WC but that only lasts a few hours then it’s back to only one or two being in the open...
