    Today's a new day.

Yeah, I understand that, @CaptainBarnicles. I get upset due to the deal made by the parents. I do not like strict parents who try to strip my hobby away. But I will focus on your advice, Captain.

    Today's a new day.

I have watched the videos with a grain of salt (caution). Colin is correct with the youtuber part, most videos are rubbish but you also need to watch the good fishtuber videos with caution. I also watched MD Fish Tanks as well but with some caution. Back to the stocking level. 96% is just below...

    Native pygmy perch pond?

Reviving the thread because of discussion about ongoing government issues regarding native fish. I see. There is an understanding on evolution of the marron/yabby species. I hope someone studies the evolution of the hairy marron. I think what's interesting is about the government. What were...

    Today's a new day.

Hi @Colin_T, @AdoraBelle Dearheart and everyone else watching the thread, can you tell me a good, uplifting story about your fish please? Feeling a bit down today presumably because of an earlier argument between me and the parents. I need to keep company in the forum. I need storytime to make...

    Today's a new day.

The days go by overtime and STILL waiting for the 10.6L 22cm cube project to begin due to the already many-time broken deal made by parents. Question of the day: What other cube aquaria (other than petworx ones) would you recommend to me in Australia and is it a good aquarium for fish, shrimp...

    Today's a new day.

It's the afternoon and I did a stocking calculator for the 10.6L aquarium. It is nearly at 100% of the minimum stocking level. I put 7 chameleon shrimp into the calculator to see the stock level and read 96% when it was calculated. 7 is the maximum number of shrimp you could put in a tank like...

    Today's a new day.

Friday, Australia Day. Or as the Aboriginals call it Invasion Day. One of the biggest days of the year. Just got up and fed the tetras. Being cautious when watching good pet youtubers. The tetras are doing okay currently. I argue against the parents because of the house rules.

    Today's a new day.

This is interesting. I was talking about good youtubers, not the ones who do the wrong thing. I now do have an understanding of what Youtube videos to watch and what videos not to watch. People like me should not tear the tank or bowl down, just keeping it. So people may tear the scape down...

    Today's a new day.

Currently getting advice from shrimp bowls and tanks. As usual, the forum is helpful. The tetras are resting now, I will see them tomorrow. Shrimp will be an interesting gem to the growing tank collection. The aquascape vision is complete and the 10L tank is ready to go, but the parents won't...

    Today's a new day.

Oh and @Essjay, have you heard of Halocaridina rubra, ʻōpaeʻula shrimp? They're only found in Hawaii and is impossible to get them in Australia. These are brackish water shrimp, not saltwater shrimp.
  11. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

Some youtubers do keep the tanks but most of them tear them down. Are the good youtubers doing this for views?
  12. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

Ah, I see. So why do good aquarium YouTubers do shrimp bowls without filters?
  13. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

I watched a shrimp bowl aquascape video and I could do that after when the 10L project and other few future projects are finished. I'm focusing on the 10L currently, but I also like this glass bowl from Koch and Co. : https://www.koch.com.au/buy/glass-fish-bowl-45cm-clear-23tdx44cmdx40cmh/gfb45...

    Today's a new day.

I am in a good mood today. I like myself now, but for a while. The forum has been helpful for me. I just hope I will make the empty 10L better and aquascaped when the deal is sealed. Do you guys have some motivation for me?
  15. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

It's the afternoon and I just had lunch. I will be waiting for dad and mum to come home. The tetras are doing okay currently.

    Today's a new day.

On why I can't sign up for TAFE: I'm not ready yet and still a Year 12 student. I understand now. I can study aquaculture but is it as easy as marine bio? I can try to do TAFE and University, but the latter is sometimes difficult. And I'm graduating Year 12 in September by the way.

    Today's a new day.

Hi @WhistlingBadger. Do you want to join my thread? I am less stressed than yesterday and caring for my fish. I'm doing good on my hobby and the fish are okay at the moment. At least I'm following others' advice and taking good care for the tetras. ------------- Fish and shrimp are important...

    Today's a new day.

Thanks. Parents won't let me have some live plants for the 41L too. So I'll wait.
  19. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

Watching some videos on aquarium plants so I can focus researching them. @Seisage and @AdoraBelle Dearheart, thanks for helping out. I understand that you're busy today. I'm focusing on my fish and the project at the same time. I know how advice works now. I am trying to be a good person and I...

    Today's a new day.

Today's Thursday. One more day until Australia Day. Indeed, I woke up just in time for a TV show I like to watch. I will celebrate Australia Day despite people going against it. About to feed the tetras and will look after them. I am more active in the thread because it's a diary on myself and...

    Today's a new day.

Blue Gum Lake and I didn't see anything. I hear birds, but didn't see anything. There is a dirt path that goes to part of the lake. Dad and I go bushwalking every day now.

    Today's a new day.

When the 25th (Thursday) hits, one more day until Australia Day (Friday 26th). I think I remember seeing the last Skyworks in Perth before it was defunct and replaced by drone shows. I don't know if fish are scared of fireworks like dogs... I'm going to focus on my hobby this Australia Day...
  23. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

Yeah, but I'm also planning to build the Petworx collection probably after the 10L is done.
  24. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

It's the evening and I just fed the tetras for the second time. Went bushwalking earlier with dad and still thinking of ideas for the other two Petworx nano tanks (30cm cube and 45cm cube). Does anyone have ideas for the two future Petworx tanks? I have the 41L and 10L currently, but wanting to...

You're getting Australian rainbows? I'm in! I followed you earlier btw.

out of time. Mum at end stage.

That's understandable. Let's hope you set up other tanks. What fish are you looking to add next when those new tanks are set up?
  27. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

Dad poured some new water with the 10L jugs. No, he didn't move the whole tank. The tank looked better but the tetras are still in one corner. I made the mistake to putting them in a 41L with 30cm swimming space when I was diving into the hobby last year. Hopefully that will change in the future...
  28. elephantnose3334

out of time. Mum at end stage.

What fish and shrimp do you currently have?
  29. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

Good. The carer did help with me and dad helped me for pouring new water in. Gravel vac was the method. We gravel vac-ed together. Probably 50-60% of the old water is removed. I understand that you're busy.
  30. elephantnose3334

out of time. Mum at end stage.

Try your best, @AdoraBelle Dearheart. Take care on what you have currently.
  31. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

It's the afternoon and dad is going to nap in the living room. I am busy trying to get advice from this thread. Everything's okay at the moment and the twin brother hurt his back while working at a theme park serving food to customers. The arguments went away an hour ago. Mum is at work and...

Happy (belated) Birthday to AdoraBelle Dearheart

Happy late Birthday @AdoraBelle Dearheart. :) :bday:
  33. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

Hi @AdoraBelle Dearheart. I told you yesterday that I did the water change with my carer, but you didn't reply. :( The parents don't want me to push my hobbies further because of house rules. This makes me angry that they won't let me do my fishkeeping hobby despite there literally is a 10L...

    Today's a new day.

Vebas just told me that any non-native freshwater shrimp aren't allowed due to biosecurity laws that are in place in our state. Only WA native shrimp/captive bred natives are allowed to be sold in fish stores here. I told them why they aren't allowed, and they replied because they aren't. You...

    Today's a new day.

Today's Wednesday. Got up earlier than expected. The parents won't let me do the 10L now. :< Hostile to the parents, friendly to the fish and shrimp and employees at LFS's. I've been hating on the parents for the last 12 years due to their strict household. Issues happen in the household...

    Today's a new day.

I can't tell you about the deal, sorry.
  38. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

I don't know, but Vebas did tell me last time about if they break the rules when selling cherry, amano or glass shrimp, they will get fined by the Fisheries department for doing so. There is a native shrimp in Northern Queensland and Western Australia called Caridina sp NT nilotica, which is...

I am going to sleep now. Good night everyone!

    Today's a new day.

I redid the 10L aquascape vision and it looks like this: I only wanted small plants because I don't know about putting larger, taller plants in the tank. I also want to save space for the shrimp in the tank. It probably has 3 to 3.5cm high of gravel substrate at the bottom of the tank.
