    Stocking?

Normally that would help, but the op says there is a water buffering substrate in the tank.

    Stocking?

Um yeah if you want to test your water to see if you can keep soft water fish.
  3. C

    Stocking?

If you have water softening substrate then your hardness will be completely different in the tank. Do you have a test kit?

    Stocking?

What is the hardness if the water in the tank?
  5. C

    Stocking?

If your water is hard, you should choose a fish that likes hard water like Livebearers or safely lower it. you can’t argue that your water is fine for your fish if it’s hard and that’s that.

    Thinking about getting bantams.

Unless your tsc gets chicks from another local hatchery, you don’t have blue giants, and you definetly don’t have an Ayam cemani

    Am I losing my mind?

The algae and plants are most likely consuming the nitrates faster than you can add ferts.

Pearl gouramis are mid to top dwellers.;)

    Am I under/over stocked?

I would up all your tetra schools, but rummynose specifically because they like larger groups, and I would get TONS more corries, since you have bronze (c.aeneus) you can get albinos or green corries(not emeralds) just make sure they are Aeneus. I would have at the very least 20 corries in that...

    Pickles and cold pizza

I haven’t tried my homegrown tomatoes ( I don’t care for raw tomatoes), I do grow hundreds a year for my chickens, so I will have to make some salsa with them this year!

    New 50 gallon stocking ideas

Neons should be kept anywhere from 69 F to 82 F. so I would keep the tank at around 77 F.

    Entertaining/Energetic Fish

I would get some rosy barbs. I have 4 neon rosy barbs in my 36 gallon, with pearl gourami, and Corydoras. They just zoom all over and never stop.

    New 50 gallon stocking ideas

I would get at least a trio of pearl gourami, they do better in larger numbers.
  22. C

    New 50 gallon stocking ideas

Maybe Amano‘s, the gourami while peaceful will most likely pick off anything smaller.
  23. C

    New 50 gallon stocking ideas

First, get at least 15 corries of the same species( or 2:) next, I LOVE pearl gouramis, so I recommend a trio or 2 trios of them. Or you could do plain old angelfish lol! And then ad 1-3 schools of 8-20 of rasboras, or tetras, or another type of schooler.

    Pickles and cold pizza

Cold pizza Is nasty! But I havent been able to eat pizza for years, I am severely lactose intolerant (and somehow allergic to tomatoes.) but at the end of the pickle jar I have been known to drink the juice!

    Thinking about getting bantams.

Lucky! I can’t imagine how many bins there would be! the family farm and homes and tractors supply’s in Michigan have normally around 20 different bins, 1 or 2 for assorted bantams, 1 or 2 for ducks, rarely 1 for turkeys, and like 5-15 for 2-3 different breeds of layer chicks. ( some are...

    Thinking about getting bantams.

I don’t know about the uk but every feed store here has chicks right now. If you find chicks the store should have an assorted bantam bin, it’s males and females of all different breeds though.

    40 Gallon Stocking

What are your water parameters? Gh, kh and ph. We need to know these before suggesting fish. angelfish are not the best for a 40 breeder because they like tall tanks.

    Platy Fish Siamese Twins Fry

It is not necessary to put them in their own tank, it is HIGHLY unlikely that they will survive. Normally you would cull them.
  33. C

    Thinking about getting bantams.

Yes silkies are overbred one hatcheries, you could get some from a reputable breeder though. Normally any Cochin (frizzles, sizzles, and frazzles) and D’uccle are very calm and friendly.

    I am getting baby chickens!

I can’t really tell from the pics, but some have a few unique colors that I’ve never seen on a blue Plymouth Rock. Can you get a pic of each chick in natural light?

It has the appereance and growth of dwarf aquarium lily , but the leaves are a weird shape, I’m thinking it’s a very stretched Apongeton.

    Thinking about getting bantams.

self named chicken expert (nerd) here! the general rule for bantams is 2-4 sq ft In the coop (with 2 being the absolute minimum) and in the run 5-10 sq ft. I would build them a little 10x10 run with a coop in the corner or connected to it. If you let the, out in the garden they will tear up...
