In my experiance Betta's (Siamese Fighting Fish) do not go very well with fast moving fish like Danio's or Tetra's. Also Neon Tetra can be nippy when kept in small groups, and a Betta would make an easy target for any fin nipping.

Look happy to me, just check that when the lights are out during the night they are able to hang out in a spot where they can get some rest from the flow.

IMO the answer to your question is you should not add any other fish to the tank, 1 goldfish is more than enough for a 10 gallon tank.

I agree with you 100%, P@H seem to be the only fish store that I go to that question you about your tank and ask all the correct questions. Every other shop just sells you what you want and a lot give poor advice on what fish should be in your tank.
