Good food is NLS, You wouldn't have to feed them veggies if you didn't want to as the NLS has everything they need for a balanced diet. I still feed mine veggies though, mixes it up a little. Should see their colour's enhance a bit to :good:

What pellet's you feeding? Some cucumber, peas and spinach every now and then goes down well. For their main diet a good quality flake or pellet is fine.

    Malawi Tank - Seting Up

The syno's do like to be in group's yeah but as you say three wont do any harm at all on the bio load and three will be a good start until you add a couple more in the future or pass them on that's entirely upto you. Yeah if you wanted to introduce the sprengerae i don't see a problem with...

    Malawi Tank - Seting Up

That's ok, ah everything will be fine :) Just enjoy it!! True, would be a pain having to move everything about to catch the fish. You could have some synodontis catfish in there with the malawi's or BN's at least then these can be left in there when you add the malawi's later on. Yeah if you...

    Fishless Cycle Question

Could do with getting the plant's out as they will give false reading's with the water parameter's (taking ammonia out of the water etc..) :good:

    Malawi Tank - Seting Up

Hi saz, first of all congrats on getting married! :D 200L is at least a better sized tank for a first Mbuna tank. Malawi's need to be added in larger groups as this spreads out the aggression, if you add just a couple of fish these will choose their territories, meaning its quite difficult to...

    New 90 Litre Bow Front

For me id go for 1 large group of the dither fish, so 12+ neon's maybe 4 platy's and then a pair of dwarf gouramis. You dont want to much going on in there but with the right amount i think it will look nice. :good:

    Upside Down Catfish

Never kept them, only heard they prefer acid water. Although all the other syno's from lake tang and malawi etc.. All prefer the hard alkaline water so i don't know. Seem's strange the one species prefer acidic water.

    Upside Down Catfish

Are you talking about Synodontis nigriventris?? If you are then Yeah they should be ok with the fish above, although they are like rams and do prefer slightly acidic water. Best kept in schools, so for your tank 4 to 6 should be fine i think :good:

    Kind Of Rescaping

I suppose, i know wood is a pain. The huge pieces i have took ages to get where they are now. Yeah maybe have a play around with the plants and see how it looks then. Very natural looking to me though so id leave well alone :P
  30. Malawi MaD

    Kind Of Rescaping

I like it a lot, if your not to keen on the right hand side though, why not use that wood as a center piece maybe?? Then build around it. Personally though i think it looks really nice. :good:

    Sick African Cichlids Please Help.

Ok. You do have a quite a few fish for a 55G and id recommend removing the kribs and brichardi now or at least when you get the 120G. Then just keep mbuna all together :good: For the meantime id do a large water change 50% and introduce slightly cooler water, couple of degree's lower. Try...

Starting My New African Cichlid Tank

I know malawi's can flick about a little, the black spots could be caused by excess spirulina in their diet. So it's not necessarily some kind of fluke, don't look like it to me :good:
