New 90 Litre Bow Front

Torred what is your lfs? Honestly people on here will know more than most lfs's, Tizer is only trying to help and point out the obvious. :good:

Do you have an ammonia test so you can monitor the level, Torred?

Please rethink the angels; they get far too big to be happy in a 90l.

I do not have an ammonia test, both of my LFS's said there is no need to test ammonia, just nitrates/nitrites.

Please listen to me and the other members.

An ammonia test is absolutely essential for fish-in cycles.

torred, you really do need to listen to us here... what the LFS say is mainly to make money, apart from one excellent lfs i go to!

People on here are offering good advise why do you not take notice, ammonia testing is a definite must for fish in cycles but you will not take that onboard why ?

PLEASE don't take advice from any kind of LFS unless the staff are members of forums like this. Have you seen goldfish starter kits they recommend? Or betta boxes? They are CLUELESS. We only tell you this because we have already put their advice to the test and it had cost our fish's lives. We have no reason to say it out of spite. What would be the point?

You have asked for advice on stocking, people gave you advice but you went ahead anyway so why bother asking in the first place. You have a nice tank im sure it will look great but please avoid angels in that tank. :good:

If its so important, why would my LFS not advise?

Because they don't give a rat's #16#####! Why would they tell you there's something wrong with your water when they could sell you more fish instead? It's a great business plan but the ethics are shocking.
Ammonia is a very harmful product. As you know, people that handle ammonia wear face masks. Unfortunately fish don't have such luxuries so they rely on us to remove it either biologically or mechanically. That's why the water needs to be tested.

it's true :(

oh lordy, now the mods are here.... please don't be me!

my lfs insisted with my fish in cycle (i only had 2 guppys) that i bring in a sample every 3-4 days so they can test for ammonia untill i could afford a API master test kit of my own

If these are real plants then don't worry about the cycling guys. It is not necessary to do a traditional fishless cycling with a planted tank. This looks like a planted tank to me and can therefore bypass the traditional cycling process.

The plant mass is very good and the fishload is small. If you have any questions on planted tanks and what to stock them with, don't hesitate to ask.

What is the lighting?

Yes, it is a planted tank. I am not sure what specific light it is, its just the one the tank came with, however it makes the water look cloudy when it really isnt. What type of light do you reccomend? Also, the light that is in it does not bring out the color in the rasboras like the light at my LFS?

The LFS uses a higher light most likely because they don't grow plants etc etc.
Also please take the advice your given and don't get angels please! :(
