my conversation to marine keeping has been put to a sharp holt after a miss hap whilst moving at the weekend

ive orderd my new glass incorperating a dry weir for my skimmer to sit in and increasing the height of the glass making it closer to 500 litres so whilst a disaster it has a silver lineing as my tank should look nicer to the eye as i wont have my skimmer hanging on the outside of the tank.
gotta look on the bright side of life

il keep you posted on my progression of the new build

a little bit of my wallet died when it happend lol

carrying it and it was top heavy so once it started tipping there was no going back lol lessons learnt next time use more then 2 people to carry it lol

just to keep you all updated with the progress of my new tank build/repair

i got the glass wednesday night and being inpatient couldnt wait to start

after making the tank wasnt to keen on the look of the metal cabinet so was looking at the price of real wood to clad it but decided to try build it into a wall

just got to fill rub down then ready to paint then add some doors

Looks great! What color are you planning to paint it? Also will cabinet doors go in the top too or will that be open. It does look even better though :good:

thanks for all the comments il paint it the same colour as the kitchen walls and put matching skirting board around the base to make it blend in.

it will have matching doors top and bottom to keep everything hidden away nice and discreet. :shifty:

and as for stocking i do not have a clue all i no is im starting out with fish only with the intent to upgrade lighting and move to corals once i have more experience in marine fish

but once again thanks for all the comments just waiting on 3 6mm pieces of glass to make an internal compartment to house the skimmer dry inside the tank and a heater then the fun will begin :good:
