So i managed to get my hands on 10 rainbows, i pick them up tonight and they will go into a holding tank until i can get the 6ft running. I am going to enquire if they can get anymore as i really would like a fairly decent school in the tank.

Hoping native rainbows or such, if i cant source them it will prolly end up goldfish, a while away yet, gotta organize substrate, hoses for the pump i picked up today etc

Rearranging a tank is a good way to intro them, though i personally just added them as i found them (now i have 11)

LOL If i had to toss gravel/sand etc because a roach/bug was in it while it was stored, i would be penniless. Just toss the roach, rinse the gravel and away ya go

If you actually read what i wrote....................."Perfectly acceptable to put suitable sized fish in bowl"   Even 1-3gal bowls can be kept successfully providing suitable fish/aquatic life is kept in it.   Beginners, and even not so beginners can buy a tank and still put the wrong fish in...

The tank as it is now     The goldies are loving the extra swimming room, especially as there are now 7 of them in there lol. The tank is definitely goldie maxed out now Meet Godric, with Notre peeking out from under him lol  

I have a Sony A33 (dont use it much anymore) and my trusty Sony A58, quite capable of taking a stunning pic (if only the user gets it right lol)   I usually only take pics at night, no flash, just tank lights (and some are not very bright).

The angels grew up with the tetras thing is a myth. You may get the odd angels that wont eventually eat them, but i have found that if it fits in thier mouth at some stage they will eat them or at least try

Not fully rescaped as yet, will complete this weekend after a large water change  

Update....yeah i know...finally lol   The tanks are due to be delivered Thursday 5th at 10am.....unless something changes between now and then :)

Yep i made it :) It is cement and foam, sealed. Made a few since this one, and more to make yet :)   Bought 3 more zebra danios to make a school of 6 in here now :)

I had two breeding pairs of angels that used to steal each others fry lol, eventually the parents at the time got that annoyed they ate them

The tank is as clear as.....it doesnt look that way in the pic i just took lol Sorry for the horrid pic, but i took it in daylight, other tanks have lights on as well, but you get the general gist of how it looks. (will get a better pic tonight)

Very very unusual. i've disturbed the substrate many time in this tank, so i dont think thats it, tested the water, no min cycle.............i think it was a new water issue.   All but Kilda have recovered, including all the peppermint BN that are in there. Kilda is hanging in, but i sadly have...

I dont lol I still have 1 in the guest bedroom, 4 in the pool room and 2 in the kitchen/dining   I am in a big house though, and could fit the same + more very easily......only my hubby would kill me lol

This tank is now no longer. About to empty the substrate and give it a full clean.   I will be using this as a holding tank for the goldies while i fully rescape their tank......that wont happen until next weekend though now

Tank is up and running...woohoooo. Just giving it a chance to clear and come upto temp and the fish will move in.   I'll try for a photo tonight if it clears enough, if not i'll grab one tomorrow

I have my nets either directly in front of the filter outlet or under it.....works brilliantly   The OP may want to save a few fry but not all, net doesnt seem silly to me......but personally i wouldnt add a molly, i would just cull the fry i didnt want myself.   By the way the 1st vid that...

The bowl i have can safely house a good number of fish, no i do not have it half full, nor full to the brim either. The plants help to oxygenate the water also, The bowl is pretty accessible, not that i really put my hands in it anymore than i do my other tanks lol. As for efficient, people keep...

The bowl i am using is approx 30 litres, and it has endlers in it (and a juvie pep bn) & cherry shrimp. It is live planted. Not sure how it discourages water changes? I put a hose in and siphon some water out and add new, same as with the other tanks lol

So it appears that after todays effort i now have one lol....shuffled some tanks around (my son was home today lol)   The bonus with this room is it is on a different power safety switch to the rest of the house, so i dont have the tanks off if something trips the switch elsewhere.... So running...

So an update: The stand has been sprayed and is in place, the tank is also now on the stand. I just need to do a final clean of it and fill er up, and hopefully we dont end up with water everywhere lol (once a day is enough and i've had my quota today grrrrrrrr)

Goldfish - And i mean both fancies and standards. Both are generally kept inappropriately, in too small tanks the main thing that irks me. And many dont realise that many of the fancy goldies actually require a heater! This statement is simply NOT true. Perfectly acceptable to put suitable sized...

That is definitely not normal. A canister with no power should just sit there, water contained, until the power comes back on. Something is not sealed correctly.   I also have aquamantras (plus many other types lol)

Put in it hot salty water, the heat will make the wood open the fibre and help it to sink quicker. If it has very dense inner fibre though it can take a while

My Hubby knows better than to sell any of my fish stuff lol He does however tell me to sell them all the time, and i have sold some, and 2 more nanos going today hopefully. This tank though, will probably be here til its end of days, this one holds the 1st background i ever made lol

Had the stand delivered today....had it knocked up cheap, so it is more servicable than display lol.....will try to give it a paint tomorrow.   The tank itself will need a good clean, its been sitting in the shed for nearly 3 yrs, so is dusty at the very least lol. I will have to give it a test...

So Dude went home today....all healthy and happy!
