I am new to external filters and I have a aqua manta 1000u. My major issue is I've just tripped our electric and It has just turned the front room into a swimming pool. I know that naturally the pipes will act as a gravity fed syphone when the pump is off. But surely the water shouldn't escape at a massive litre per minute rate? Have I missed a seal or something. I'm not sure where it has escaped from although the the top and sides are wet indicating possibly from the inlet / outlet feeds??

Is this normal. I hope not as now I fear when I am out I will lose water. I have lifted the inlet to almost surface level for now just in case.

That is definitely not normal. A canister with no power should just sit there, water contained, until the power comes back on. Something is not sealed correctly.

I also have aquamantras (plus many other types lol)
