Sooooooo i got my betta girls........they are absolutely gorgeous and look brilliant all in together!! We have had a few tiny flares, but overall they have all got along great so far.....i am now debating another sorority tank lol   I'll take some pics later today and tonight.....

1ft cube is what i am planning for them to go into at this stage......   Looks like i won the 3 girls and an extra they have also.....should be ready to pick up Tues....

Any more than 4 will be way too much for the tank i want to put them in....so we will see. As stated i have a back up plan if they dont get along

Soooo FB is dangerous lol. I just bid on 3 beautiful female veiltail bettas. 1 red, 1 light blue and one 1 darker blue. I'm going to give a sorority a go, if it doesnt work out no hassle as i have a backup plan.....I will be getting another female at least if i can, but only these 3 are...

They were definitely possible, both had occurred, the blocking up more times than the death thankfully, so yes it needed to be changed

Mainly the design flaws are my reason for removing it. The inlets for the filter and powerhead were not big enough and prone to blocking up, meaning the canister /powerhead could run dry. The outlets on the other hand were too large and fish could get stuck in them causing death.

The old background is now out....as soon as i can get my eldest demon spawn to come over and help Hubby move the tank outside, i will be starting the new background. I'm looking forward to getting started!!

Cherries are fine in harder water.....i had mine with endlers for ages

I kept a breeding pair of large fantail goldfish in a filterless heavily planted tank for many years (til some malicious neighbour tossed poison into the tank), they bred regularly and i havested many baby fantails from the tank.   So yep it can be done

Still motoring along, another trim and replant....slowly filling in

They've only both been in here a day, so will see if they settle. It may have been the other guys that shredded her not the gold.   This tank is not going to be their permanent home....it is too small for 2 sevs

I think the gold is a male and giving the green (possibly female) a hard time, she tends to stay up behind the big plant outta his way   I may even need to move her out and let her recover, her fins are looking a bit ragged (but unsure if it was him or the other cichlids as yet)

Heres my babies, finally starting to come out and not be as nervous now the other cichlids are no longer in their tank.....i am thankful for that.

Soooo i inherited a new fish....i was going to move it on, but i quite like its cranky soul and have for now decided it can stay lol   I do however have a feeling it maybe a Synspilum, which get BIG so i have researched. But will come to that bridge when needed.   Currently Monsta is in the 2ft...

Been there done that, i lost nearly every fish i had when i moved here, they were in holding tanks in the shed. I told the bug guy NOT to go near the shed and spray as there was live fish in there. Same thing i wasnt here when they actually sprayed and lost tanks full in the sheds, heartbroken...

That seems fairly tame really.....   This year has been one sucky thing after another for me....one leaky filter would be a godsend honestly!!   Still, sorry to hear of your bad luck run TTA

In summer all the plastic sides get rolled up, so it is sunny as.....diatoms are the bane of my existence more than algae lol

The new rainbows are settling in nicely, the whole lot of them school together, tis an awesome sight. Will get a new pic tonight.

So now i am battling white spot in this tank, i hope the canister head hurries up in arriving, the tank is majorly under filtered.   So started treatment and went and bought some new stuff also. They are not happy fish currently!

I couldnt help myself and bought two gorgeous little ranchu today. So now i have five of the little beasties lol   They are currently settling in, so give em a few hours and i'll grab some pics :)
