Tomorrow i am hoping to finally start ripping the background out. The goldies are going to 2 other tanks while i get this removed and a new one put in.

Current background

I am hoping it is an easy removal as i really didnt use a heap of silicone when i put it in, but i'm not so sure as i have to break through the concrete (and there is about 18kg in the bg itself), id like to get it out fairly intact if i can (someone wants it), but i truely doubt this will be possible.

I'll grab some pics as i progress.....

On a note: This background is coming up 2 yrs old, and it has not deteriorated in any way, very please with how its held up

I plan to

1/ redesign the filter inlets and outlets

2/ change to a sandstone look, with possible wood added in

3/ slim line the entire background (corners will still be needed as that is where all the equipment is hidden)

4/ make some "rocks" to match in with background

5/ design in a narrow space to plant live plants in, that the goldfish wont have much room to access (hard to explain)

.

Still juggling fish around lol

Sevs have moved from the 3ft to the 620T
Unknown cichlids (these are going) are in the 2ft custom
The angel and gourami from the 2ft custom are in with the BGK
The 3ft is currently being emptied so i can give it a quick clean, then i will fill, move the 5fts canister and heater in, then the goldies will move in here.

Then finally i can empty the 5ft lol

Goldies now moved, and none too happy with the extra flow the 405 gives them in the 3ft......hopefully everyone copes!

Will empty the 5ft tomorrow as its getting a bit late now

Still havent got the 5ft empty lol...cant do it tomorrow as when i get home got the planted tanks to do, so wont be until Sunday. Not enough hours in the day sometimes

Are all these tanks in your home? You have so many it would be like Christmas everytime you walked in a new room!

All but the 6x2x2 are inside the house :)

So this is on hold for a bit....i have decided the goldies really need their tank back. I really cant do much until my arm is ok again, and that could take a while, so it is back to a normal black painted background tank for the time being anyway

Sorry to hear that you are unable to do this yet but I will be eagerly awaiting your updates when you are back to full fitness again
